The Dorking Christian Centre aims to be at the heart of the local community. Below are brief details on what is happening here.

Centre Café

Our aim is to ensure our local community has the option of an affordable hot lunch Monday to Saturday. The café is open 10am to 1.30pm and serves lunch from 12 noon. Main meals are £3.80 and desserts £1.70. Some of these are made from food surplus donations from M&S and Tesco. See Centre Café page for more details.

Social Activities

The Centre has many activities where you can have fun and make new friends. These include Tai Chi, chair exercise, upwords, bridge, table tennis, bingo, sequence dance & tea dance. See What's On page for details.

Community Fridge

The Dorking Community Fridge is in our café area which is open Mon to Sat from 10am to 1.30pm and the Centre is open from 10am to 8pm most days.

The Community Fridge is stocked from food surplus, mainly from Waitrose. It is mostly yesterdays bread and pastries but sometimes ripe fruit & vegetables. The idea is to reduce the amount of food going to landfill. Volunteers collect food from Waitrose which is past its Best Before Date and put in the Community Fridge / cupboard which is in our café area. Anyone can then come and take what they need. There is a donation tin if you would like to leave a donation but no obligation.

Dorking Area Foodbank

Opening hours Tuesdays 5-6.30pm Thursday 2.30-4pm in our café area.
